The Newport Harbor Varsity football team opened its 2026 season in impressive fashion Friday night, defeating the Nanakuli Golden Hawks 41–0 at Nanakuli High School in Waianae, Hawaii.
The Sailors delivered a complete performance on both sides of the ball, scoring 41 unanswered points while the defense kept Nanakuli off the scoreboard. The decisive road victory gave Newport Harbor a 1–0 start to the season and provided a memorable beginning to the team’s trip to Oahu.
Newport Harbor now returns home to face Murrieta Mesa on Friday, August 21, at Davidson Field.
