We’re proud to share that Newport Harbor Football was recently featured in the Los Angeles Times Daily Pilot following our big home opener win over Lancaster!
The article highlights the Sailors’ explosive start at Davidson Field, including senior quarterback Jake Meer’s 254 passing yards and four touchdowns. Two of those scores went to wide receiver Jackson Stremick, who made key grabs all night to keep the offense rolling.
The Sailors built a commanding lead early thanks to contributions across the board. Glenn Baranoski made an impact on both sides of the ball, while Emiliano Torres anchored the defense with several drive-stopping plays. Christopher Foster also came up big with his leadership in the trenches, helping to set the tone up front.
Special thanks to the LA Times and reporter Scott French for covering the game and recognizing the hard work of our players and coaches. This feature shows the momentum building under Head Coach Matt Burns, now in his second season leading the program.
