John Arredondo

Defensive Coordinator

Coach Arredondo (“Dondo”) begins his 4nd year at Newport Harbor and 27th as a coach.

Just prior to Newport Harbor he was at Cerritos College. His coaching career includes the offensive line coach at Santa Margarita, Coaching Wide Receivers at Mater Dei and at Reedley College as Defensive Back coach and Recruiting Coordinator: Running Back Coach and Recruiting Coordinator for Fresno City College, Defensive Coordinator for Selma High School and Offensive Coordinator for Mendota High School. He was also a Head Coach for Avenal High School, where he led the Buccaneers to their first playoff appearance in 15 years and first winning season in 5 years. He has sent several student/athletes to play at all levels of college football and has seen over a dozen carry their talents to the pros.

Coach Arredondo has been married to Monica for 27 years and they have three daughters Monique, Kristin and Alexis
